With both teams boasting a rich history of success on the rugby field, this fixture serves as a unique opportunity for fans to witness the relentless determination and skill that define the women’s rugby landscape. The match will provide an early glimpse into the form and strategies of Manusina as they gear up for the upcoming WXV2 competition in October.
“We are grateful for the opportunity provided by NZR to have a fixture against a Black Ferns XV, which will no doubt feature up and coming Black Fern potential players together with current or former Black Ferns. Much like what NZR are wanting to do in terms of building their pathways, we see this game as a key build up as we finalise a team to travel to South Africa for the WXV 2 competition in Cape Town in October, where we will play 4 test matches including 2 against South Africa.”
Manusina Head Coach, Mataafa Ramsey Tomokino
Great exposure for Local Girls
Manusina is up for the challenge and will use this match against the Black Ferns XV’s as a way for our Head Coach to test few combinations and expose some of the local girls to great rugby with a great opponent.
We have been asking for more fixtures for our Manusina. We welcome this fixture with Black Ferns XV’s, to be able to play and test ourselves against quality opposition is what Manusina have been seeking, 2023 has been a crucial year for building a foundation towards the future for Samoa women’s rugby.
