Lakapi Samoa launched the Lakapi Championship 2022 today during the press conference at Lakapi Samoa Head Office –Tuanaimato.

The tournament consists of four teams selected from the current active provincial unions 2022.

Two teams consist of under-20 players (Upolu and Savaii) while the other two teams consist of under-23 players + 5 senior players (Apolima & Manono).

This is based on the current format of the World Rugby Pacific Challenge tournament which the Manuma Samoa will participate this year.

Lakapi Championship is a high performance tournament for the selection of the Manuma Samoa (formerly named Samoa A team) and Junior Manu Samoa (formerly named Samoa U20s).

The Upolu and Savaii teams are for Junior Manu Samoa selection, while the Apolima and Manono teams are for Manuma Samoa selection.

The tournament is kindly sponsored by Yazaki Kizuna Foundation and Vodafone Samoa.

TV3 Samoa will broadcast the tournament live and live stream on social media platforms on the scheduled match days.
