Lakapi Samoa is proud to officially announce the naming of the Manu Samoa 7s and Manusina 7s squads that will represent Samoa at the highly anticipated Oceania 7s 2024, to be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands, on December 7th and 8th, 2024.
The Oceania 7s is a premier competition that serves as a key platform for high-level rugby sevens in the region, bringing together the best teams to compete on the international stage. Samoa is determined to showcase its talent, culture, and passion for the sport in both the men’s and women’s categories.
Manu Samoa 7s Squad
The selected squad reflects a mix of experienced players and emerging talent who have proven their commitment and performance in both local and international competitions. Head Coach Matamua Upati Junior Salima emphasized the team’s rigorous preparation and shared the team’s readiness to take on the challenges of the Oceania stage.
Manusina 7s Squad
The Manusina 7s, led by Head Coach Filoi Eneliko, is equally prepared to make a strong statement. With a balance of seasoned campaigners and new faces, the team is focused on representing Samoa with pride and determination, breaking new ground for women’s rugby in the region.
Lakapi Samoa General Manager High Performance, Seumanu Douglas Ngau Chun, stated:
“This is a proud moment for Lakapi Samoa as we send both the Manu Samoa 7s and Manusina 7s to compete in the Oceania 7s. Our teams have worked tirelessly, and we are confident they will carry the hopes of Samoa with pride and strength. I extend my gratitude to the players, management, and everyone who has supported our teams’ preparations.”
Both teams will depart Samoa for Honiara on Saturday, 30th November 2024.
